CIS tunning

Will a CIS engine run as smooth as a carb engine? Is it best to work with idle an mixture after warm up?

Thanks
W.

sure.
you need to check CPs, and timing at the min before messing with mixture, but yes, hot.
the cool thing about CIS is you set it hot and the system has been designed to work at all other conditions based on the initial setting.

if you have a rough running engine you need to make sure the ignition system is working, no air leaks, no injector issues and no mechanical issues such as bad valves/adjustment.

Thanks T77
yes it runs very good. Just trying to get that idle down to 900 an run smooth there. It likes to go up and down a bit. Idles beautifully at 1100 but that seems a bit high.

Hunting idle could also be vacuum leaks. Does the idle speed change if you open the oil cap? If no, that is a really good indication you have unmetered air entering the system.
