Post 2.2E Rebuild Question

Does anyone have any comments/experience on rebuilding a 2.2e motor with a 2.4 crank and rods. BA kind of glosses over it in his book, but it seems like I could keep my 2.2 E pistons, increase the stroke, and get a 2.4 displacement engine with higher compression than the original 2.4 motors. I would think keeping my E MFI setup and cams might work.

Actually he mentions using 2.2s pistons in a 2.4 so I guess you could use your 2.2e pistons along with 2.4 rods and crankshaft, however BA says that according to calculations if you use the 2.2S pistons (9.8:1) in a 2.4 they should produce a 10.35:1 ratio but in real life they produce 9.66 (pg 139), hence you might gain a few CC's but loose a little compression.
