Suggestion for shift knob engraving design
I bought my shift knob with me while away. I knew I would be hanging with a buddy who has a connection with a laser engraver.
Any suggestions for the engraving? Shift pattern - we all know the pattern Porsche crest - we all know what car it is in Blank - looks like it is missing something Nürburgring - commemorate the homeland track German flag - Commemorate the homeland Car stats - 911SC 3.0 Or your guys ideas Got probably a couple of weeks before we'll hook up soI have time to think about it. I can't remember where I got the knob from but it had been in my VW parts pile for ages and have had it on the shifter for the past couple of years. ![]() ![]() Terry

Shift pattern (I have more than one manually-transmissioned car, and they have different shift patterns) or Porsche crest (can't go wrong with the classy option). If you're racy enough, then maybe the track map of your favorite place (whether it's the 'Ring or the Glen or Lime Rock). Not a fan of the other options presented.

Hi Noah930, I have 5 different manual shift vehicles, 4 different patterns but never find it too confusing. My dumb theory is if you cand find the right gear your not driving my car. My SC is raw and dirty classy doesn't resonate when sitting in this gal.
Favorite track driven is The Glen in my SCCA ITB days. Lime Rock visited dozens of times but never tracked there. Porsche had never been tracked. But still are on the table. My wife is an artist so any engraving can be colored in after. Terry

I recommend that you engrave your shift pattern. I believe that's how they came from the dealer/factory. I suppose you noticed how darn expensive they are to buy a new one!!!

grizzfan, yea crazy cost. However I have the original put away and is in near mint condition. That was one of the reasons I swapped it out.
The shift pattern will probably be the default design just as a generic choice. Terry

gshiwota, I like that but with my factory short shift kit I might nick 20th gear.
HarryD, is that what you see when driving the Magic Bus RSBob, I can be an a$$ but that is the engine the shift shaft is attached to the tranny. Maybe 915 to remind the operator of the true grit of proper operation.
