Help with Shift Coupler in San Antonio '83
Calling San Antonio 78232 Pelicans
 Can anyone in 78232 help out a Pelican with a miss-aligned coupler? Car: '83 with 915 PM me please

How do most other people do these? I didn't have any trouble with mine but maybe the way i did it helped out: I had the trans in neutral and then slide the coupler over the shift input shaft. I set the shift lever about where I thought it should be for resting neutral and then tightened the coupler to the shaft.
Sorry if that is the obvious method but just thought it might help since mine was trouble free the few times I've had to remove it and reinstall.

Procedure is to put the trans in first gear, loosen the coupler and set it in the correct position for first, tighten coupler, road test and make minor adjustments as needed. Took me about 3 small tweeks to get mine in the best position after installing the new coupler from the Whisperer.
