I saw a pair of pre-74 headers that Tbiz advertised on the clasified board and on ebay. The clasified post is on the second page under Pre-74 Headers for sale. The ebay sale is at:
ttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=597086059 Sorry I can't get the hyperlink to work. Anyway, my question is, is this what SSIs are meant to immitate? Second, other than the headers, what else is needed to be able to use them? Do you need the earlier type muffler too, or will they work with a stock muffler. Finally, they look like they are in good shape and are currently only a couple of hundred bucks. Am I missing something or isn't this a very good price? I would be interested in any education you have to offer. ------------------ MRM 1984 Carrera Cab Eurospec |

No, the SSI's are a 'cmplete' heat exchanger ... i.e., can be made to provide heat with modifications to your air duct routing.
Those pre-'75 'headers' had the rusted heat ducting removed. A new coat of silver paint is what you see ... And, yes, you need an early, double-inlet muffler, too! ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa 1992 Dodge Dakota 5.2 4X4 parts hauler |

I always wondered what the plumbing looked like under the skin. Interesting.
