Deploying- off we go!

Guys, my wife and I are preparing to be deployed to an undisclosed location for an undetermined amount of time. I can’t say when I’m leaving but if you watch the news then you know it will be very soon. Please keep our troops in your thoughts.

I’m pretty bummed that I wont make to Santa Barbara Run I this weekend. Have a great time and be safe. We’ll plan for Big Bear Run III when I return.

I will be taking some SCWDP stickers w/ me, it’s all for the good of the plot.

EDIT: Well guess what... I tried to wait to the last minute before I posted this and as soon as I did, things changed. Many of you know that change is all you can count on in situations like this.

We are on hold, destination unknown and who knows when we may be leaving now. I might be able to make SBRI after all!

Thank you....and stay safe. We need a large, dry parking lot for our p-cars during the winter. Maybe we should make one over there!

A little over 10 years ago, we did the "we're going.....no we're not.....yes we are.....no we're not- shuffle" and then actually went for 9 months, I can tell you that I think of ALL the deployed troops almost every. (ok, not every single one, but I try)
There's a lot that I miss about serving, but saying 'bye' will never be one of them.

"Watch yer 6, and get back quick!"

All board members and visitors, if you personally know someone that is away from their home for an extended amount of time, be it military or professional, words cannot describe what it means to get a piece of personal mail. I'm not talking about email, but an actual letter. When that person calls your name and it's placed in your hands, everything falls away and for that few minutes, nothing else matters.

Ask me how I know.
