Do you know if Wevo ever makes discounts?
I'm keen on ordering the Shifter an coupler.
That's $595 plus $195. Plus shipping and tax I'd be at a $1000 aprox. Heavy. Did you ever experience them to make discounts (black Friday or similar)?

Have you looked at buying through Twinsparkracing.com? They are the European distributor

I did. way too expensive. The set'd cost me EUR 1016,- + shipping. whereas an order with WEVO would cost me EUR 860,- all incl.

If you are lucky sometimes you catch a slightly used setup on the classifieds for 30-40% off. They come up about 3 times a year.

Wevo are unlikely to sell good directly with a European delivery address as Twin Spark are their official European Distributor.
I used to deal with Wevo before they appointed Twin Spark but now I have to place orders in the Netherlands. |

This may be the reason they have not replied to me as for my request to know if they are willing to ship to Germany.
Rennshift replied immediately, they would. My Problem with Rennshift though is: you cannot fit a 917 wood knob to their type of stick. And they dont have that coupler.

I watched for two years before pulling the trigger. Might as well grab their billet clamp for another $35.
A few years ago my father in law did score a deal on their website here: https://www.wevo.com/Products/SurplusSale/WevoPartsForSale-WevoItems.htm But I have never seen anything listed in that section.

Can someone explain what makes a WEVO so great? Couldn't one just make a shifter gate plate like Ferrari uses to insure you are shifting into the proper gear?

The spring detentes in the Wevo help give some feel to the change and makes a huge difference (or it did to me). A gate as you describe is an idea but not sure if it would work as well without some idea of where you are when you can't look at the gate, if that makes sense?

One of Wevo's early shifter designs utilized just that- the Ferrari-like gate plate integrated into the shifter. Apparently they chose to move away from that design and went with the spring-loaded design we see today. I'm talking 915 shifters here.
But they did not abandon the gated shifting design altogether. The gate moved from the early shifter design to the internal shift rod assembly https://www.wevo.com/Products/TransmissionProducts/WevoTransmissionProducts-Internal_915Gateshift.htm The Gateshift kit replaces the original fork and lever assembly that's part of the bottom plate, including replacement of the bottom plate As far as discounts go, the average consumer isn't going to find a discount on their products. They appear to establish a MAP (minimum advertised price) with all their distributors. Everybody sells the stuff at the same retail price. So the only way around that is to take advantage of Pelican's occasional discount codes for return customers. 5% off your next order includes Wevo products. So if you bought a shifter through Pelican, you'd pay $565 and save yourself $30

The WEVO shift gate is mounted INSIDE the transmission, Not on the shift tower

I looked around for a while but same price of 595. Try to find an online out of state source and you can save on tax if they do not collect. Maybe they might do free shipping also which would be a plus. Btw I live about 3 miles from Wevo headquarters.
