I think I was the only SC 3.0 there, I coulda used Some help!!

I have been using Redline injector cleaner in my 83SC. it has a valve lubricant additive that I like. I only use Chevron 93 in my car and I have new injectors. I have read so much on the inconsistancies of the gas refining process even with Chevron that I feel a good treatment is necessary for proper fuel system operation,especially in our older cars.

Different strategies?
 

When it comes to build-up perhaps the concentrated 20 oz. bottle to a near empty tank isn't the most effective.

It was recommended to me that a bottle in 20 gallons gives that much volume of cleaning, and more effective cleaning compared to only 50 miles or less of the conc. tank.

to my understanding.. the 20oz per tank is more effective if it's not a daly driver.. or only a short haul ride.. to give the Techron time to do its thing.. compared to a 300 mile ride

My mechanic said that I MUST use this stuff in my rebuilt 2.4 so I ran this up on the board this past summer and had a hell of a response from aircraft to snowmobile operators.

Although I use Chevron (gas and cleaner) I pour in 10 ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil in every third tank fill up. Great top end lubricant and fights moisture build up.

My buddy who runs a major maritime institute swears on this stuff for all marine engines. Heck, its been around since the 1920's, so something is working..................

93 Octane! I want some! What is the problem with this stupid State of California! I filled up yesterday "Chevron 91 Octane" and the cost was $1.99 a gallon. It just keeps climbing and climbing. I think the county and the station owners are screwing us badly.

What are the rest of you paying for fuel? and what octane?

Whodathunk, this Techron stuff actually works. I did 20oz in 3/4 tank and followed up with 20oz on 4/4 tank. 2/4 way through the second tank and the engine is running smoother (and it was not rough before this). Time for a valve adjustment and oil change next :)
