Post Do 8" Fuchs (from the rear of my SC) fit on the front (of my SC)?

Want to use the rears in the front and get 8" rears. This would put me at 225 up front and 245 in the rear.

as long as you don't lower it, you MAY get away with it. front tires snagging the fender lip is the consequence.

Is that because of an offset that's unique to that wheel and not necessarily correct for that car....or would you expect that on any correct offset 225 up front? I am just trying to figure out if you are suggesting that it WILL fit but not recommended or if it's the crrect fitment just something that I'll have to watch out for?

Rolling the fenders is an acceptable consequence to me...but when all is said and done I would like the correct set up.

Chris-

If you want to get away with 8" Fuchs up front, you should look for a set with the 944 offset (countersunk lug nuts). They will give you the ability to run wider rubber, and get the proper (lower) ride height. You may still have to roll the lips though.

It's hard to understand what you're asking. Are you considering 8-inch wheels in front and back on an SC? If you're talking about 7-inch rears being moved to the front, then yes, they will fit. You can put either 8 or 9 inch Fuchs in the back.

If you want 8s in the front, get the ones made for the 944 Turbo.

Sometimes it's tough to communicate here. Sorry about that. I am trying to get wider wheels and tires while using some of my exisitng parts. The car has 6" front and 7" rear (if that's standard 16" wheels for an SC...I haven't measured yet). My thought was to use the rears in the front and then buy the widest rears I can get. Again my goal is wide rubber/wheels with little expense.

Of course the other route is to call Fikse, plunk down the $2k+ for wheels and be done. I won't do that until I know all of my options. If there's a better way to do this (then spending $2k) then I will do that. Thanks for the help and guidance.

Put your 7" in the front and buy an 8" rear. run 205 front and 225/245 rear. No rubbing probems. 225 on the front rubbed my car. The rear is where you need the rubber. (That doesn't quite sound right!)

No need to measure wheels. The size is embossed on the back of the paddles as is the offset. The oem rears will be 7x16, +23.3mm offset they are great for the front of the SC/Carrera as long as bigger brakes are not installed. the 944 8x16 will also have a +23.3 mm os. Each car is unique, some tolerate the 944 8x16 in the front well others don't. I had them at low euro height with shaved lips and no interference.

For the rear you want +10.6mm os 8x16 or +15mm os 9x16. The +10.6 mm os wheels will definately not fit the front of a narrow SC/Carrera.

Fikse or Kinesis in larger sizes work nicely, I have 8x17 and 9.5x17 on my car. I just saw several sets of Fikse for around $1500-$1700 at; http://www.porschenet.com/partsmar.html

I put 7 and 8 like you wanted to do on my SC. I am running 205 and 225 tires. I did have to roll my left front fender lip.
Go for it
