Web site for DAS??
I'm thinking about a roll bar and from what I've read in the archives so far is that Daugherty Automotive makes a good quality bolt-in for my SC. Unfortunately, I can't locate a website for them, anyone have a link? (The car is street only, just added safety along with the "cool" factor.)
Too bad pelican doesn't sell roll bars (I looked and I couldn't find any), life would be so much easier ![]() Thanks, Gary |

Gary,
I installed one in my SC last year. It was pretty simple however, the trick is to not tighten any of the bolts down fully until you have all of them threded in a little bit each. Other than that it was a PERFECT fit and it looks good to boot.... ![]()

I like the DAS bar very much, but you need to critically evaluate your needs. I wanted a rear section bar for a dual-purpose street/track car...mostly street...and wanted a non-obtrusive set up that is easily removable with no tell-tales. I got what I wanted. Went in fairly easily too with only one seat needed to be removed to install. Bought mine second hand so I can't comment on purchase dealings. However, I did talk to Colin Dougherty on a number of occasions on other things, and the shop ( and him) are easy to deal with. For design features, I especially like the way the diagonal goes from the main hoop over the driver's head...back and across to the right/rear fender area. Some other bars bring the diagonal straight across and down ( at the foot of the main hoop behind the passenger seat)...and this really constricts rear-ward movement of the passenger seat. Caveat...depending on seat...you may also have an interference point of the driver's and passenger's seat track as it goes toward the rear....may hit the "foot" of the main hoop. Not a big deal, but be aware of that. Slight amount of grinding on the foot plate allows a bit more rear-ward travel, if it matters. Altogether, a nice product ( although I will say this...if I had the fabrication capability or access to same, I would clone the design with a number of small improvements for both safety and convenience. I've discussed these mods with Dougherty and he likes the idea enough that he "may" incorporate these into future production...don't hold your breath, though.) Man, I should get royalties for this
