Are you replacing the rear engine cover or wanting a bolt on solution? What front spoiler do you have? Should never run a rear spoiler without a front one.

My metal rear deck lid is in perfect condition. I just like the look of the whale tail rear spoiler. My car is still having the original metal front spoiler. Like Jack recommended above I should have the correct front spoiler to have the whale type rear spoiler. My 1975 911s is still in stock condition, no modification to engine except remove air pump, removed thermo, vented airbox cover with holes on one side of airbox cover, and engine head air deflectors cut a little to make engine running a little cooler. Thank you Jack for the info.

Heinz,
You would need a complete turbo tail and decklid unless you were willing to drill/cut up your stock deck lid.

I hope you meant which would be correct for a '75. First w/o RS rear flares I think that any tail won't look right but any way You will want to add a front rubber lip to your existing front valance, these lips were all the same from '74 thru '89 here's a '74 Carrera which has the correct front and rear spoilers for a '75, You'll note that the front lip bolts on but the rear is a one piece design that replaces the whole engine cover w/ a separate p/u lip that bolts on to the f/g tail. Note also that these lips are unobtainium at this time. ![]() ![]() ![]() Here are some further pics of the lid/tail used above ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() There were other versions of this tail too, there was a long version uused on th IROC cars

std w/ big slot used on 930
![]() std w/ small slot ![]() ![]() You don't want a tea tray bolt on type used mostly on 78 up 930s The closest to the oe version would be one from an '84 up which bolts to the oe deck, again these have the separate bolt on lip, cheapest and lightest will be an afteermarket version of these, which have a one piece integral f/g lip ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() aftermarket all f/g version of the 3.2 Carrera tail [img]http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads26/

Bill, the Carrera 3 spoiler is also the same as the one you show on the '74-'75, isn't it?

I agree that a whale tail looks out of place with midyear flares.

I have an 88 Carrera tail and deck with the inner panels as removed last week in metallic blue.
$1200 plus shipping but I can only guess where I would be shipping to... Bruce |

I love the shape of the early whale tails compared to the one on my 87 930. Peter at Speed Academy fitted the early rubber wing on his late model metal section and the results are great. I’d love to do the same.

My 911s doesn’t have front and rear fenders flares. Do you guys think it would not look right for none flared body with whale tail spoiler?

If you go the Duck route do yourself a favor and use when built on a steel or aluminum decklid, rather than an all f/g version. The fit will be be way superior.

My 85 Targa came with both rear and front spoilers from factory, but I like the old school look of the duck tail, so I installed one on mine. Is all what you like, and how you feel about it.
