What game is that??

do you have any GTII Ruf CTR Lap times??

Come on.. I need to have some Lap times to beat ! hahah I am bored and this is the only P-car I can drive right now.. as we are having, ice storms..

Eric

tight as a bull's ass 02-14-2003 05:43 PM

Eric,

Nice screenshots.....are they from Playstation 2 or PC?

well, you wont find any P-cars in Rallisport Challenge (too bad) but it does have the best graphics around...if you have the system to run it, that is.

http://www.nvidia.com/docs/IO/3666/SUPP/large04.jpg

happy driving!

My car is currently experiencing problems so I'm kinda bummed out as well...

:D

(PS. this is 'not' OT, it is about Porsches.....)

Eric Mckenna 02-14-2003 06:00 PM

Wow!! those are great graphic's! The ones on GTII are good the Digi cam do them no justice haha Yes it's on Playstation2.. the game is great fun.. ..( Rally games are great fun!!) .. I have just gotten hooked on this driving of the RUF cars from GTII.. i can beat almost all the cars but the Ruf understeers like crazy!! and I can't set it up right to make it stop.. and it burn the tires off as well so the endrance racing is tuff due to the much needed PIT STOP's! for new tires!!. hahaha but it's all I have right now in the way of a PORSCHE! the game is great fun but I want to drive my REAL one.. SC .. NOT RUF! hahahaha

Eric,

Jim Garfield 02-14-2003 06:10 PM

Eric,
Do you have the Logitech wheel?

Eric Mckenna 02-14-2003 06:14 PM

I wish!!!!, nope i use the stock controller.. I'd love to have a wheel.. I am sure it would drop my lap times..
I keep spending all my spare cash on the SC! hahahhaha!
Do you have one? and are they worth the cash to get one?
Eric

bell 02-14-2003 06:29 PM

i'm going to turn some laps in a little bit for you eric, this is going to be fun.....mhaahaahaa......

later:D

Hockey fan 02-14-2003 06:30 PM

The Logitech wheel is the only way to go! The feedback is amazing. The rally sections almost beat the wheel out of your hands! I also have the WRC game for playstation 2 and it works with the wheel also. If you buy it get it at Best Buy and spend the extra $5.00 or $6.00 for the extended warranty. I have a "friend" who for the past couple years experienced "wheel failure" (through no abuse!-) right before his warranty expired and got a new one no questions asked.

Jeff

P.S. my real car is out of action also.

Eric Mckenna 02-14-2003 06:32 PM

Sweet !! there we go!!!!!!!.. now remember Bell be honest about them, hahaha and tell me which track they were on and try toi use a RUF CTR.... with around 580ish HP's!! hahahahhaaha muhhahahahah!

Eric

Eric Mckenna 02-14-2003 06:35 PM

Jeff,
what is the cheapest you have seen the wheel? I do want one but I still se the pad controller due to the cost of the wheels..

Eric

PS, Bell what type set up do you have.. pad, or wheel?
I have a pad conroller, and i am still gonna better you lap times! MUHHAHAHAHAMUHHAHAHHAHA!

btw! SC's RULE!!! :)

Jim Garfield 02-14-2003 06:43 PM

You HAVE to get the wheel Eric, it's amazing. The wheel was about $100. when it
first came out but I think that it's much less now.

Anyboy know what other games the wheel works with other than WRC, NFS hp2 ?
I think that there is one of the '02 F1 games that work but I'm not sure which one.

Hockey fan 02-14-2003 06:43 PM

Eric,

It is a bit expensive. I think mine was around $85.00. However, when winter rolls around and you can put some serious hours on the playstation it's nice!

The best justification is to average the cost of the wheel over the hours of playing time! Ha Ha.

Jeff

Hockey fan 02-14-2003 06:45 PM

Jim,

I've seen the F1 game work with the wheel but I'm not sure which one it was either.

Jeff

tight as a bull's ass 02-14-2003 06:52 PM

If you spend money for a wheel, might as well get the best one in the market, the Logitech MOMO Force, Leather steering wheel, aluminum pedals...etc

expat 02-14-2003 07:05 PM

Eric...you gotta get a wheel man. I used a Logitech (sp?) the other day. It had paddles for gear shift on the wheel and forced feedback. It was really precise.

I was playing on the Grand T game so no times to compare, but it was huge fun. Just wish I had my own. Great way to explore opposite lock driving and pedal manipulation.

Its come a long way since my NFS1 with a stock controller!

bell 02-14-2003 07:15 PM

Eric Mckenna 02-14-2003 11:51 PM

Bell,

.. I am gonna make a RGT to see what it's like. do you have a steering wheel?
If so I am gonna have to get one the the game pad i think hampers your feel for the game..
here is my time.. It's friggin 3:45 and I am tired!! :) of seeing my Lap times SLOWER tha yours.. So I WILL BEAT IT in the moring!! after some rest .. my driving stint is over! for the night! hahaha

Has anyone played the WRC or WRCII? How does it compare to GTIII? I can't get enough with the rally mode in GTII.
Andy
'87 Carrera

Eric Mckenna 02-15-2003 05:24 AM

Andy,
I have never played...... and now that I have a goal in GTII to spank BELL! hahahaha I may never until I can post lower lap times on all the tracks..
Bell I am rested and going back at it! I may have my roomates chip in on a WHEEL! and LOOK out now bro! hahahahha

Eric

Dutchie 02-15-2003 05:26 AM

The GT mod can be found at http://www.simmods.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=27&t=7254&st=0

But first u must have Electronic Arts F12002 installed after that you can install the mod. It contains 993 GT2,s 996 GT3,s and lots of other nice cars like the Lister Storm.

Cheers,

Ed

Eric Mckenna 02-15-2003 05:43 AM

Thanks Ed!!
I'll look into getting this..
Sounds like some NICE cars to drive.

Eric

Dutchie 02-15-2003 06:53 AM

if we have more people we could have some online games it uses gamespy for multiplayer on the internet. Ehhm Eric if you download it use the gamespy mirror :)

MrKJBlue 02-15-2003 06:57 AM

Im up for a little challenge pick a track. standard CTR.
I take it theres no way of modding the PS2 version.

bell 02-15-2003 08:46 AM

eric.......please realize i'm a product of the 80's and my "facination" with driving games all started with "pole position" :)
my freinds won't play 2-player gt3 with me anymore because it's no fun for them.....lol
i'm using the stock dual shock controler, but i have used a nice force feedback wheel and my times do improve with it.......i too am going to head to best buy to pick up a wheel today:D
i also have ea's f12001.....still need to pick up f12002, but my times on 2001 will make you wonder.........wicked fast. my roomate can't figure out how the hell i can run as fast as i do in that game :D

You guys gotta dump that fancypants CTR2 or RGT and race the Yellowbird CTR 964. Sure it's slower, but it's so much more difficult to race.

That car is a handfull on fast, long curves! Try loading a Yellowbird to the gills and racing it on Red Rock Valley (I think that's the name of the track). Those long fast turns have that car wagging it's tail like a hungry puppy.!

Laguna Seca is a tough track to tame with this car too.

My favorite car on GTII is the Nissan 300ZX-GTS. That car flat out rocks.

k9handler 02-15-2003 10:21 AM

I have to chime in....GT II is easy compaired to Gotham Racing on the XBOX. I was able to get cash and cars at will on GT II...but this dam Gotham (or according to my 6 yr old... Got Ham) has me stuck on level 7 with my best car a damn Ricer Skyline! When I sau stuck...I mean I can't get within 5 sec of what's required!

Dignan 02-15-2003 11:29 AM

allright, im eric's roommate and he is a bit confused. this is GT3, not GT2. I beat eric with the RGT but I cant keep up with Bell, my fastest on midfield is 1:03.934

bell 02-15-2003 12:11 PM

yes this is gt3 on ps2.
well now you have another goal :)
use whatever "ruf" you want.......
1:00:956 hitting no walls..........midfield.....rgt....:D

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/bellgt33 002.jpg

i think i still have a copy of gt2 around somewhere.........i'll see if my times match gt3

Dignan 02-15-2003 12:21 PM

bell, why dont you hook us up with your settings with the RGT, I just take the settings from the LeMans cars and try to apply them to the RUF. Do you have a wheel as well?

I have yet to have a "flawless" run, there is always something that I could do better on.

we dont have gt2, I have the original though.

bell 02-15-2003 02:01 PM

here you go.......
the most important thing to change is the traction control/active stability, this is how i can get a bit of oversteer.
brakes are 11 front 9 rear
gearing is set to almost top out at the end of the front strait.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...ttings 006.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...ttings 008.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...ttings 010.jpg

i just got home.........i was going to go buy a steering wheel setup but than kicked something in the road up and punctured my fuel talk  so i just went and ordered a new tank
oh well....i still love the dual-shock:)
