If anyone from the SanFrancisco Bay Area is attending (or has attended), please PM me.
As much as I'd like, I cannot attend. I understand, but am sad, this is the last batch of classes Tony will offer ![]() I think there's a rebuild project in my future so it'd be great to find a local Pelican reference. |

Where did you get this information? I don’t recall making an announcement about retiring from teaching. But I have reduced the number of participants from 5 groups to 4. As of today, 3 registered participants for the 2024 Fall WORKSHOP have informed me that they could NOT attend for personal reasons. I will do my best to set up a small group considering these people who missed the 2024 Workshop in the next event. When? I have no idea. It all depends on the number of interested people and on my physical ability to cope with the work needed to get this done. Meeting new friends and spending 2 memorable days doing things we have in common is a dream come true. The transformation in a short time is beyond belief. You don’t get this satisfying feeling watching instruction videos. Tony |

Good Morning Shaun! Why are you up this early? I was very exhausted after working more than 20 hours in 2 days and slept most of time yesterday (Wednesday). I woke 2 hours ahead of my alarm clock (5:00 AM) and was wide awake. So I went to PP Forum to pas the time. Can’t wait another opportunity to start the next group of people at 8:00 AM. Tony |

Good morning early risers!
I'm up because I need to write a story for the 356 Registry.

Those of us who cannot attend this great workshop are envious. Even more envious when we hear about the fine Philly Italian dinner festivities!
Cheers to all. and thanks to Tony and the Mrs for organizing this event!

Just rolling in for day two here outside of Philly. Fortunate to have a really great group, and Tony has been phenomenal in demystifying tear down processes. Of course I am a master of disassembly already, but his insight and tips are invaluable. Today we build with the goal of no left over parts and fastners. Curious to see if my growing confidence is changed by the end of the day. Great class!

Looking forward to this class!
I am concerned however that when my wife tracks my phone she will see that I am spending two solid days at the "Heavenly Spa"

Agree 100% with Dennis. This is the kind of event the recharges the motivation level for me within the community. We were blessed with a great mix in the class with varied experience, and all made the experience that much better for me. It was an interesting transformation for me - and perhaps dangerous to some extent. Tony has a gift for a mix of technical understanding of the motors and old fashioned McGyver "figure it out" work ethic. His collection of both self made and Stomski tools, and Tony tricks and techniques will save 100s of hours of research for those WTF head-scratching moments.
Thanks to all of the other attendees who for me, made this event all the better. Collectively, I am not sure we left many questions unasked - just a great group of Pelicanites. Recommendation for the next round of attendees, go on Stomski's website and watch the videos on setting Top Dead Center, and the process top time the Cams and set the valve clearance. This will give you a good foundation that Tony will build on - by the end, the group was trouble-shooting and resolving some "oh crap moments" - which builds confidence and more importantly, familiarity with every engine component on the long block. I even know was some of the doohickeys and whatchamacallits are now. So thank you Tony - this is something I will talk about for a LONG time as one of my favorite 911 events.Dennis, Lash, Ross, JT and Kenneth - thank you all as well - just a great group to work with. As a challenge - and for the record, Tony said we were the best group, EVER. And we were able to make enhancements by lightening the engine with a handful of left-over parts. Good luck and enjoy the fantastic even.

A big thank you to Tony! What a wonderful class and great experience! For those who haven't yet taken this class, you will love it. Now if we can only convince Tony to do a similar class on CIS. Hint, hint....

Tony,
Thank you for this opportunity to attend one of your Porsche 911 engine rebuilding classes. We did have a great group of guys in the class (9-19/9-20). We did ask a lot of questions, you either answered them or had us figure out the problem ourselves which is a great teaching tool. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and please thank your wife for being so accommodating. Lash

Flight delays
@SFR - would love to meet up this evening, but am still stuck at the airport. Now saying departure at midnight with arrival at PHL at 1:40. Ugh. Looking forward to the class tomorrow (assuming I can eventually get there). I’ll be the guy with the coffee IV …

Need Some Company?
Quote:
Mark, I will be at the venue on Wednesday afternoon doing the final prep for the last group. So if you need some company, let’s have dinner together plus others. Set the time and place you want to meet and I will be there with my wife. There so many nice places to go for dinner around the area. Tony |
