Can I use 964 AC control on '87 911?

I have a 1987 911 that has been backdated to a '70's RS. Engine, trans, body, and suspension are done and now I am starting to work on the interior. i want to remove the center console from my 1987 911 and was hoping to move the AC controls to the dash by using a 964 control unit. Is that possible?

The A/C controls that you have are just some basic switches and wires, you can extend the wires and move the controls anywhere. I put mine into a radio blanking plate. all you need is some room behind the dash and 2 holes about 1/2 inch in diameter each.
