New seats! Well seat. I wanted to make sure I liked the Sparco QRT-R before ordering two.
It's mounted to Sparco brackets and sliders. I did have to drill a few holes to get them to mount up correctly. Like most other bucket seats I'd say they sit a little high for a tall driver. I'd eventually want to have the mounts redone so I can get them closer to the floor. They fit great and look really nice in the vinyl option they have available. While I was at it I replaced the old worn out seat belts with a new set from SeatBeltPlanet. Now I need to order one up for the passenger side.

is there enough room to use lower slots in the bracket? or does the seat bottom out on the sliders below the top slots?
I've also found that reclining the seat a little more can have a significant affect on headroom.

I was able to adjust things around a bit and lower the rear bolt down one notch from what you see in the picture. Helped recline it a bit, but it still a tight fit when I'm sitting up straight. When I eventually take it to the track I'll likely pull the cushions off the bottom to fit with a helmet on.

Back from the dead with a long overdue update.
Right before the pandemic I finished patching in my sunroof. It turned out great! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

From there I decided it was time to fit the carbon fiber decklid and hood I picked up from TRE. Oh and I also picked up a new M2 for commuting and hauling the kiddos around.

Then the pandemic hit. In a moment of madness I decided I was going to strip the interior then install a half cage and weld in some lower seat brackets.
I had never welded before, so I bought all the gear, watched every YouTube video I could and went for it. I didn’t take many progress pics, so I’ll have to get some fresh ones.

Then the project stalled, I had become frustrated with work and the lack of seeing anyone. At that point I started looking for new work and landed a dream job. I decided to take 8 weeks off and was going to finish my interior!
… then my wife decided she wanted to move. We stumbled into a massive opportunity to buy a house off market only a short distance away from us. So I ended up working those 8 weeks to prep our house for sale and pack up all our things. I couldn’t be happier with our new place, but it’s meant that I haven’t touched the SC in six months. Moving it to the new garage was a chore given I had pulled the fuel lines to weld in the new seat brackets. But we made it happen. I just yesterday pulled the seats back out and removed the windows so I can do a final clean and primer before putting the carpet in. I also decided that I’ll be having the exterior repainted as well given I’ll have most of the car apart anyhow. ![]()

But it wasn’t all bad on the car front. Somehow I convinced my wife that I no longer needed the M2 since my new job was 100% remote. So I went out and picked up this guy. Should be fun until I get the urge to finally pull the trigger on a GT3RS.

Trying to make at least 15-30 minutes of progress as day. I feel like this is really going to test my bodywork/welding skills. If I mess it up too much I’ll just have the painter fix it.

Putting in work, got the inside masked off and ready for a coat of primer and some lizard skin.
![]() My quick release hub got here today. I couldn’t help myself so I threw it on really quick. ![]()
