Gordon and ALL...

Am going to VID an Element test. Would appreciate support from P-crowd to get into this!

Is simple enough for me to buy product and test... and thumbs up or down it. Is another thing to set up environment and video the performance of an Element to "group-proof standards." I'll set up and record this test provided a few of you guys express genuine interest in SEEing if the Element works or not.

Genuine interest = $10.

Genuine confirmations so far = 2 --- TY Will, Bruce. (8 total wanted.)

PM me for info.

let`s wait for Element Fire to replay to my Q.

From the FAQ page link above it also states:
Originating in Italy, Element has been certified in Europe by CE and TUV (in addition to other international certifications). Currently within North America, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) does not yet have a testing standard written from which to certify Element. For this reason Element cannot be used to substitute extinguishers in regulated environments that require a UL (or UL endorsed) certification. Element however can freely be used as a supplemental extinguisher in these environments and as a primary extinguisher where there is no regulation (car, home, personal garage, etc.)

Hi Paul..again i do not really want to argue..but believe me i called everywhere in Germany (tuv) or in Italy and nobody ever heard about it...of course it does not take away the product quality...i just wondered and investigated that is all;-)
Ivan

MARISOL78sc 02-13-2018 12:10 PM

No worries. I'm just relaying what is written on their FAQ page.

proporsche 02-13-2018 12:11 PM

ok..cool.. in this case let`s really wait for an answer from the right boy Element Fire;-)

Ivan
i just thought if they put on the package made in the USA or made in Canada that would make sense;-)Why would you worry about any TUV tests in the Americas??

Ivan,

Glad to help. Be well

Element Fire 02-13-2018 02:38 PM

Gentlemen thank you for your interest. As your have rightly determined Element is a brand that exists primarily in North America. We have gone through the extensive process of certifying the product for sale over here and hold the exclusive distributorship of the product in the Western Hemisphere. Element is manufactured in Italy as it states on our package and is distributed from our North American offices. I hope this puts to ease any doubts and explains our packaging.

Regarding certifications, as quoted above, we are in the process of getting UL to recognize our technology and different packaging as their current standards do not account for Element's design. While not legally relevant in North America, obtaining TUV approval is very difficult and in many ways much more arduous than getting UL. We are proud of the TUV approval and consider it a badge of quality and performance even if it is not 'legally' relevant in the USA.

In the next few months we hope to really raise the profile of Element and (being car guys ourselves) are starting to do so in the car community. Last week we filmed a piece for Jay Leno's Garage that should air within the month and we are constantly working on generating better videos and content for our website to help customers better understand the product.

I hope this helps. Moderators we just want to contribute to this thread and not infringe on any commercial rules.

Are you working with any of the insurance companies to get their blessing? It would be great to see this be recognized by AAA.

What about marine approval? Solas are fairly strict and their endorsement would weigh heavily as well.

Element Fire 02-13-2018 07:01 PM

We are currently in discussions with some of the classic car insurance companies and big car shows to recognize and endorse Element. We have been endorsed and written into the rule books of one race championship so far for 2018 and are also actively discussing with several other race and DE groups. One of the blessings/curses of this product is that there are so many avenues for distribution that every day it is a question of choosing which to pursue so the future is pretty exciting but incredibly busy.

Regarding marine approval, in the US marine defaults to UL for their standard and it is totally un-bending. When UL comes boating will come by default but until then we can only legally sell the product as a supplement and not a substitute by what is legally required. Luckily as long as you have what is required by law (no matter how buried it is) then you are totally free to have and use Element. Personal cars and your home for instance have no legal requirements so having an Element is a free choice without having to supplement it with anything else.

I don't see a rating for this extinguisher?

PCA requires a 10BC for DEs?

Element Fire 02-14-2018 10:44 AM

We are actually in discussions with the PCA right now to figure this out. Our certifications are European based and the North American ratings (like 10BC for instance) are not a straight conversion (think metric vs imperial bolt sizes). Once this gets sorted the approvals would be published by the PCA.
