15" tire options
What is everyone doing for tires with the 15 Fuchs these days? I've got a 74 Carrera look with flairs on back and need to pick up some tires for the 15" 7"/8" combo. All I see are 4 not good options: all season tires, BFGoodrich radial TAs, and Toyo AX tires or Pirelli 60 UTQG softies.
Ideally would like 205/225 50s, but am now looking at 205/225 60s in either BFG or Sumitomo or General all season tires. All season tires are a lousy choice since I live in the Bay area and am a fair weather driver. Any feed back on using the Toyos RA1 tires exclusively on the street? On my stocker 15s I have some Fuzion minivan all seasons. They suck for anything except driving the car... like a minivan.
On my wide fake Fuchs I have shorter than stock BFG Rivals. I love those things for everything except... driving the car like a minivan on the freeway.

Yeah, I've done it. They stink in the rain, are kinda loud, and wear real fast.
The RE71R have the extra added bonus of a poor ride. I run those on my DD though, so I'm a special kind of crazy.

Some hits on Tire rack. You'd think no one uses 15 or 16" wheels any more....

I purchased Toyo R1R in 205/50/15 and 225/45/15 for the build I am doing. I realize I will have a lower drive ratio, but I'm willing to give up a little high end for some added acceleration. Planning to lower the car significantly, and hope to reduce any small tire effect.

15” tires
Hi: I am the owner of a 1974 Carrera...I have owned this beauty since 2000, she has 160,000 miles with a 2.7 Sri spec motor, totally refreshed suspension with a track set up... what I use are 2 different tre wheel combo’s: I located a nice set of 944 turbo 7/8” wheels{ they have a proper offset and because I raised the spindles to lower center of gravity also rolled front fenders} I use 225x15” Toyo 888 under all 4 corners....they are super stickie and with normal street driving should give you 3/4yrs of fun...
The other set of tires are the Bridgestone RE 11 on 7/8 Fuchs sizes 205/55/16 frt and 245/45/16 rears...again great tre with super grip. I find the 225’s on all 4 corners Provides the best balance... good luck
