oil temp gauge/sending unit question

Stupid oil temp gauge/sending unit question
-I have an older aftermarket VDO oil temp gauge that reads up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
-I also have an older vdo oil temp sending unit that reads 150 degrees celcius
- I saw the conversion of 300 degrees Fahrenheit equals 148.889 Celcius

Will this sending unit give an accurate reading on the gauge?
