Engine number help

My 68. 911 that I'm having issues with.
Engine number is
960655
The other number is
901/02
6540
What does this say. Re my 68 911

That number belongs to a 1967 911S motor.

So its not the original engine. But I think its more hp than the original. I'm pretty sure its a base 911 1968 originally with a sporto trans.
So I'm not overly unhappy with that.

You should look on the early S registry lost and found thread might be worth big money to the right buyer!
