Same here... I missed the discussion of where you got those.
|
Got lip?
|
compensating???
hahaha...looks sweet...can't wait to see the car up and about...it is always a treat seeing BB rumble around the wilshire/la cienaga district... plus then I can get my grubby hands on your leftover parts MJ |
Thanks.
The 15-inch RSR Wheels are a bear to get tires for. That's why I went with 17-inch diameters. I've got a set of 17x315 BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KD's for them. The tires are just under 13 inches wide. (That's a lot of compensation. ;) ) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...elandTires.jpg The wheels are two piece wheels made by http://forums.pelicanparts.com/Lindsey Racing. They take a 6x16 Fuchs center, and weld it into a single piece rim. The turnaround time is a couple of weeks, if the rim size you need is available from their suppliers. |
Thanks Jack.
Dang. I forgot how big those 315's are!!! By the way, has Lindsey ever mentioned anything about the two "different" 16x6 Fuchs wheels? One wheel (911 361 113 00, later version) appears a little beefier than the early version (911 362 020 43). Just curious. Obviously the stronger-seeming wheel would be the wheel of choice. They both weight the same. Well, as best as a fishing or bathroom scale can measure. :p |
Jack:
I really, really like those wheels you had made up and the gargantuan rubber that will be fitted. I'm with John in liking the satin anodizing, but that's just a cosmetic preference. I respect that the polished look is where you're headed. The choice to keep a "Fuchs" looking wheel on your car is not only applauded, but to be drooled at also. Really cool.   |
AWESOME!
I'm looking forward to seeing the finished car - it will look good for sure. |
They're very cool.
What else is happening? |
For perspective, here's the wheel, tire, and a 25-pound dog. ;)
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...iresandDog.jpg The shocks are here (from the Netherlands?!) as well. We're getting close. |
LEFTY!! (Or is it Spot)? Whatever, sweet little doggy. :)
Big shoes, BTW. |
Puppy looks a little intimidated by the wheels.
|
I guess size does matter.
|
Shame on you Jack. Making the puppy sit there next to all that "unmarked" territory.
|
Jack,
What are you running on the front? (wheel and tire size?) Also are these wheels setup for the same offset as for a 930 application? Very nice wheels and HUGE tires. Thanks, Berardino 84 930 |
Sweet Fuchs.
|
Those are simply amazing! http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/pray.gif I can't wait to see how BB2 turns out, it looks like it is going to be even better than the original.

Jack,
Black Beauty is living at TRE right now? |
Yes, it's there for another week. Tyson at TRE has built this car from the ground up, and the attention to detail is pretty phenomenal -- especially when you consider how quickly he's had to do it.
Here are some more pictures from today. Click on any for a larger version. The motor and tranny are in. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...otorTime-T.jpg Here's one last shot of all the wheels. Note that the fronts, which are 9.5 inches wide, have much more backspacing. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...heWheels-T.jpg This has the inadvertent effect of making them look like normal 7's in front, in spite of the fact that they have 275mm tires. The increased backspacing is part of Tyson's idea for improving the car's handling by minimizing the scrub radius penalty of going to wide front wheels. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...lLooking-T.jpg |
Forgot the money shot:
Not much of a picture, but these are the Dutch struts. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...Glitters-T.jpg |
okay...I've just officially shifted you to my "car crrrraaaazzzie" column
i plan on joining you when I finish school and finally get a paying job... right now I am in the "starving student restoring a 911 with student loans" column MJ |
