2.7CIS on 3.0SC engine. Hot start issue.

Hi everbody,

I run this configuration on a 74 Carrera (The origina 2.7 CIS and electrics, on a 1982 SC 3,0 Engine) I runs well one started.
Mechanics have checked everything several times, seems to be ok but, to start the engine hot (after 15 minutes and on) is a mess. I dont really know how compatibles those CIS are.
I don't want to give up on that and buy and ITB, because of the cost and difficulty to get one in my conutry.
Any idea?
Thanks.

Diego

Residual fuel pressure.......

Diego,

If your system does not have good residual fuel pressure after 15 mins. from shutdown, check the following:
a). Fuel accumulator.
b). FP check valve.
c). FD check valve.
d). Fuel leak in one of the fuel lines.

Hi Tony,

a)The FA is new (the SC model) May be i should use de older one (for 1974)
b)Is checked OK.
c) What is FD? Fuel distributor? is checked already.
d) Fuel lines are checked and no leaks.

It is frustrating. Always had this issue, i change my mechanic also.

Diagnostic tests..........

Diego,

You are guessing. That is not a good way to find the culprit. Do a residual pressure test and locate where the pressure loss is occurring. Test and confirm.
