Question for Fuchs Gurus

Is there a particular year range that used polished paddles?
What year range used the all black centers?
I have spend hours using the search and have yet to figure this one out.

Matt:

If you will tell me the year and model 911 you are interested in, I will look it up for you.

I'm going out on a limb...in 1975 they changed the Fuchs to all black centers. I think that's the year that black window trim was introduced. Of course, I could be wrong!

fuchs spokes were anodized clear aluminum ("polished") through 1977. In 1978 black centers were introduced. 944s, when equipped with fuchs, had black centers (7 and 8 x 15s) as well. Porsche's comfort package used 15"" black center fuchs on 911sc and carrera. All 16's were black centered until the factory started offering colored centers (like the Weisach edition bronze)
Lots of dealers also had wheels polished, chromed, or otherwise painted to match the car color when offering new cars.

Appreciate the information guys. Just what I needed.
I have a guards red '87 Carrera. I have the original 7 & 8 x15 with black centers. I wanted to go with 16's to improve tire availability. I bought a set of 6&7x16's with polished lips and paddles. They are really well done. I just cant seem to get use to them. They remind me of the earlier model 911's and seem out of place. Its a shame to paint over all the effort that someone went through to mask and polish the paddles...so I have been giving it alot of thought.
I am not trying to create a concours car...but I do want to keep the car as original as possible.
Guess its time to paint the centers black and quit messing around. I have been trying to justify these wheels since the day I bought them. I read so many post from lovers of the polished paddles that I just keep putting it off. I guess the bottom line is they dont float my boat on my '87...at least not until I have painted them black Its a sickness...always want the opposite of what I have

If the wheels are nice looking then why don't you sell them or trade them for what you want.

I have a set of very nice 6&7x16s, all black. I am trying to get a set of all 6s, they are going on a 914 and the 7s don't fit at all. So, if you wanted to have all 7s, we could work a trade.

Just lemme know.

Porsche Crest Fully Polished Fuch

My car was just painted and I had to bring a wheel to the shop to invision the car with fully polished wheels on it. The car is PazificblauMetallic and is in the process of color sanding and polishing. Do what makes you feel good, concours or not, it's still original factory Porsche.

I had black centered on my SC at first, then got a second set and refinished to polished spokes. It took me a while to get used to the polished look but I grew to love them.

Mark...Appreciate the pixs! Thats exactly how my car looks but with the Carrera Tail. I am currently using hand painted black center caps on the polised paddles. Al will have the polished centers with hand painted logos shipped to me and I will see how that looks. Best thing to do when I cant make up my mind is do nothing. I am going to give myself a bit more time to get use to the polished paddles and see what happens. Worse case I keep what I have and buy a set of 7&8x16's with black center and polished lips.

1988 Cabrio Turbo Look with polished Fuchs, 7X16 front, 9X16 rear. Was thinking of changing to 17" wheels before I had them polished, decided not to ever since.

Liehsoh, why do your rooms look more pollished then the others. Did you get more than just the paddles pollished? Do you have a close up pic? I'm asking because I really like the look of them.

Yes I polished the whole wheel, not painted anywhere. I'll get a close up photo when I get home tonight.
