Caliber rebuild question

Rebuilding A calipers. Can get a good deal on some M caliper stainless pistons. They are both 48mm. I know M pistons have a center pin housing part and A do not. A calipers won’t work in M calipers because of that but can the M pistons go in A calipers since they don’t use the center pin? Thanks!
