Engine Running Hot

I have a 6 cylinder 2.0 T engine uprated too 2.2 with E cams ,had the engine completely rebuilt ,I’m using 20/50 oil ,the Temp gauge reads 3/4 my friends engine which is the same as mine but an older rebuild barely gets above 1/4 ,why would mine be running hotter

So many things can cause excess heat; lean running, timing off, stuff blocking off airflow on cylinders, missing engine tins around cylinders fan problems, oil thermostat not working correctly.

Maybe post some pictures of your fan and underside of engine.

Can you check timing and air fuel ratio?

Use an infra-red gun to verify the temperature right at the sender. You may also have mismatched sender and gauge,,,,maybe changed during rebuild.
