SWB Owners: I need some help figuring something out

Folks,

SWB Owners I need your help.

Could you look at your wiring harness (best place would be in the back under the engine lid by the latch)? You should see the harness running over to the passenger side tail lights.

I want to know if your harness is wrapped in electrical tape or does it have a solid sheathing over it. Also, could you look at the ground connection over on the drivers side where the ground wires go to the body. It should be on a stud with a 13 mm nut. Do you have one brown wire going to the eyelet or 2 brown wires connected to it. And last but not least I need to know if your car is a Karmann built car or not.

Here's what I'm trying to figure out. I have a Karmann and a non-Karmann that I'm working on (Both 67 912s). The non-Karmann harness was wrapped in tape and the Karmann was sheathed. The Karmann harness had 2 ground wires going to the eyelet in the engine compartment but the non-Karmann only has one. I'm just trying to figure out if these are standard differences between the 2 production locations or are these cars I have just weird.

Any help would be most useful.
