RS style front bumper help

Can anyone help identify if the part of the bumper below the oil cooler can be removed? I've seen most RS type cars without the bottom "extra" handing down piece, so I'm wondering if this is just an extra piece to help with aerodynamics or if it can be removed? Or would you need a whole new bumper if you didn't want that bottom part?

Just seems awfully low for street use.

Yes. What you are looking at in the pic you posted is an RS style bumper with an added on spoiler/splitter attached to the bottom of the bumper.

So can that added on spoiler/splitter be removed? Or would that necessitate a whole new bumper?

I can't assume how a previous owner would mount it. But I would guess it would be screwed onto the bumper and easily removed.

Take a look here. http://www.gt-racing.com/porsche-911-bumpers/

Gotcha. Wasn't sure if it was something that once mounted it was there forever. Sounds like it's just mounted to the existing RS bumper and can most likely (hopefully) be unmounted. Might be hiding part of that oil cooler too, ya never know I guess until checking it out.

Thanks!

You can get a good idea from the GT Racing web page that shows the two parts separate.
