Anyone recognize this center console?
Anyone recognize this part? Similar but different thand a 25th silver anniversary console as seen here:
https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/991372-fs-1989-silver-anniversary-carrera-console-special-edition-silk-grey-leather.html Anyone seen one before? ![]() ![]() Last edited by maninblack; 06-26-2018 at 04:31 PM.. |

I have seen one similar in a car built by the Special Wishes Department. May or may not be exactly the same but similar. I remember thinking it was something custom until I saw the Special Wishes Department documentation for the car showing all the special leather, wood, & trim pieces made for that particular car.
if you know the VIN for the car it came out of you could probably track down more info.

More information.
The upper section with the PORSCHE logo appears to be a motorized door operated by a switch that opens and reveals a DIN radio. ![]() Last edited by maninblack; 06-26-2018 at 05:06 PM.. |

the last photo where the gap, the black gusset sort of filler thing attached by the hardware store phillips head zinc screw is suspicious. I wonder if it's a piece out of a 968 or something that not many of us 911 guys would recognize?

If you look at the link for the 25th anniversary console, there's a PORSCHE trim piece in that exact spot. My guess is that the same trim piece went missing on my console and someone improvised.

I wish I had photos of the car I test drove back in March with a full interior made by the Special Wishes Department. I'm 90% positive it was very similar to this.

Black Console
-
Definitely looks like a Special Wishes console. Missing a couple pieces such as the "joiner" that secures the top and bottom halves behind the shift boot: ![]() ![]() The other missing piece is the top that attaches the console to the dash after it has been modified to accommodate the increased dimensions of the larger console. The top features miniature lighting that serves to illuminate the main vertical panel. As seen in several pictures: ![]() ![]() |

seeing them in place, and with all due respect I think they are fugly. it'd be nice to have the extra gauges, but gauges so low are not worth much while a spirited drive is going down. im sort of a minimalist that way though in my tastes..
I like the way the 1st one in black has another what appears to be a usable gauge where the clock would reside with a smaller version of the famous clock down low on the console. still too much IMO

These remind me of the "Appearance group" in 914s
Not a negative comment, I love 914s, just an observation. |
