Question 1983 Targa Upper limit window?

Dear Friends

I would like to know If the part number 911 542 065 01 (Vent window cap/corner seal) is the one responsible for the upper limit for the window?

Mine is missing and I notice (as you can see in the pictures) that the window goes a lot more to the up position

I wonder if there is any kind of adjustment or a physical stopper inside the door or on the window regulator itself so all the force on the window going up don't rely only on the Window vent cap, that will fail eventually...

Thank you all

I can confirm from experience that the corner seal does not stop the window My passenger's side window has punched through that seal completely, due to a combination of poor window adjustment and passenger operation of said window.

I do believe there is an adjustment at the regulator:
Power window height adjust

I haven't popped my door cards off to fix this yet, but it's on the project list.

You need to remove the inner door panel and adjust the stop bolt and nut for the regulator. Folks have even suggested installing a second bolt to try to maintain the position of the stop. Tearing of the rubber corner piece is common if not adjusted properly, and it takes some effort to replace the rubber corner (the vent window assembly needs to be removed from the door). There are factory service bulletins explaining the adjustment procedures.

Window should also be in the groove of that side targa seal, not sitting against the outside. That seal should be slotted so you can push it out.
