What year did caliper spacing change from 3.0 to 3.5in? Thanks David |

The early S brakes on 69/70 were already on 3.5 spacing. If you ordered Koni struts and shocks you automatically got aluminum calipers.

Most would have had 3" M calipers all around
Only Carrera would have 3.5" as a base front

In case anyone is using this thread for reference, my 76 912E (Euro ordered, Euro delivery) came with 3.5" spacing with steel calipers over non-vented rotors.
I think only the later production numbers (2000-2099) came with these struts. Bill K
