I think it uses a 70/71 clutch disc and it has a faster ring and pinion. It is unusual

trans

This trans cannot be used in a 911 unless you change the main shaft in addition to a couple of other parts as it has the early spline as in the 901. The only thing it will bolt right into is a 912E.

mv1439...you are correct on the main shaft re early spline...however, people make up many different combo's of trans - clutches - lsd or open dif - change gearing - ect - ect...there are many valuable parts in this trans and those who know how to build & use Porsche trans realize the "value" of this trans in addition to being a 1 yr only trans for the 1 yr only Porsche 912E...

Thx for pointing out your info though... :-)

Bob

Just put the 70-71 type 911/01 225mm clutch disc between a 915 PP and flywheel. Works just fine. This will give you the smaller input shaft diameter and the larger clutch plate surface area.

This is a great transmission. Factory 7:31 with electric speedo.

Let us know if you are seriously in the market for a 923 transmission and whom you would prefer to buy it from Shaun. I see the sad face in your post I hope this does not bring you down to to much.

Andrew, that is the "confused" emoticon, not sad.

I'm confused that at first you are selling the box, it's your thread. Bob chimes in asking questions indicating he has no idea what this box is, whether it's for a 911 or a water pumper. it would appear Bob was interested in purchasing it.

Then Bob says how great this box is and that he wishes he could sell it.

So I'm a little confused. Why would Bob ask on the specifics of a 923 transmission that you are selling if he owns it?

Are you in the market for a 923 912E transmission? If yes send a PM. If not let's sit and stare at our computer screens and be sad and confused together.
