Just inherited 68 912

Hello all
My father (85) just decided to give me his 68 912 . Back story on the car
he bought it in the late 80s and family body shop restored it. a few years later a neighbor T boned my father on his way to work . quarter panel and drivers door damaged . car sat for a couple years then I put it back together for him and painted in my garage. He drove the car for a few years then moved back east in 2000. I shipped the car to him. He drove it on and off then parked it . I went to visit him roughly 2005 and got it running and driving again. he drove it maybe twice then said brakes locked up. So he put it on jack stands and that's how it been since 2006.
I am going back to visit and get the car rolling so it can be shipped to me. I am very excited. Here's a couple pics from 2005 .

Talking to my dad last night , in 1989 ish motor was rebuilt with big bore 1925 kit and a performance cam ,009 distributor? and MSD 6a box Original Carbs were rebuilt and set up for the cam and big bore. He has a folder with all the receipts hoping cam number and specs are there.

You are going to have to get the correct, stock distributer, it will run much better!
