Looking For My First '67 912 Where Is It Now?
I bought my first Porsche from my buddy's family in 1979, a clean speed yellow '67 912 5 speed, 5 gauge with Fuchs. I sold it to a father & son around the Reno area in the early 80s. It was serviced a few times by SportHaus when it was on Wells Ave. & lost track of it then,
My friend's family is looking for the car now. The Chassis number is 462218 engine number 754714. There had been a dash plaque for Russell Janzan the first owner. Please post here or PM me with any info. Thank you! |

I believe this car popped up recently. (Past couple years). My car also use to be serviced at Sporthaus. Yellow is a pretty unusual color coupled with the Reno area and a 912. I have no idea where it was. Possibly on a FB 912 group or the 912bbs. Good luck.

Thank you for the info. The family successfully located their Mom's 356 several years ago.

Over the past months the search has covered a bit of the internet & some great real world people. After talking with enthusiasts at Griot's events, several shops in the area I took a trip. In southern Oregon I met Freddie at Vintage Sportscar Restoration for a nice chat & amazing shop tour. What beautiful work they do on a variety of early air cooled cars. In Reno I talked with Porsche specialists at EBS Racing, Sporthaus, Reno Rennsport Porsche. Dave at Sierra Classics & Imports was also a great resource as he has had over 140 911s. Checking records there has been no sign of my 912 for the past 20 or 30 years. It may be sitting in some one's garage or doing track duty or has been back in Europe living a new life. I would still love to know the story.
