As Jess mentioned, your best bet is to fabricate a rear mount. The original 912e mount has gotten pretty rare. You’ll probably need to start with a mount from a late VW bus, 914 etc. which will give you the proper saddle to use factory rubber mounts. Then you can weld up something to adapt the sides to your car’s frame.
As mentioned, search the Samba for the parts. See the example in the diagram: ![]() |

Hi Folks
I did have a crossmember for sale, but now it is pending. I will be back where it is stored in about a week, and will make up a sketch with dimensions to post here before I ship it. |

If you are planning to fab a mount bar- this drawing will get you started BUT- always plan to test fit along the way.

Try the Porsche dismantlers in the LA area Einmalig (sp?) may have one. There are 912'E's that have been 'totaled', this I am sure of.

I have what I think is a bus mount.
It was in an accident and bent, but maybe you could use the ends or take measurements from it. Free if you want it. Tom

LN engineering now offers a “conversion mount” for installing a Typer IV engine in a 912
But you must also use an upright cooling system |
