Rebuild Questions
I have a 912 that is now completely stripped with the body away being sandblasted. There are several items that I would like advise on during the reconstruction phase. (a) I have Nadella half shafts which were rebuilt about 15 years ago and have not given any problem. Is it logical for me to change these out now and if so what is involved? (b) I have now assembled the brake parts as original, but wonder if there is any advantage to go with vented rotors? (c) My mirror has some degradation of the chrome. It is the screw in type. I am wondering if it is feasible to take it apart and have it rechromed or if there is a source of this tye of rear view mirror around?

Bruce, the only advantage you would gain by going to vented rotors on your 912 would be increased fade resistance under repeated heavy brake usage. You'll either have change over to 911 calipers or split yours and install the spacers between the caliper halves because the vented rotors are thicker.(Obviously) Hope this helps.
