912E warming system
The problem is simple : I have no warming anymore.
I'm trying to find an explanation but I don't understand very well the warming system. I don't have any documentation because the warming is different from the 914 2.0 and nothing is told about it in the 912E manual. So, a lot of basic questions : Where is the air coming in ? What is controlling the warming ? There is two "flaps" near the gearbox but I don't find where the cables are going to (or coming from). Is the electric fan pushing or pulling the air ? ....? Thanks in advance. ------------------ |

The 912E has the same heating system that the 911 and 914 has. You should have a lever that opens the flappers via cables, that allows warm air from the heat exchangers into the cabin. The main cause of flow is from the fan that is turned by the crank via a fan belt, that fan also blows air across the oil cooler.
The interior lever will actuate an electric blower in the engine compartment that assists the heated air flow. There is another electric blower under the dash for fresh air and defrosting that uses some of the hot air.... Hope this helps. |
