Question 915/23 clutch disk question

I am mounting a 915/23 tranny from a 912E to a 2.0 six. The 915/23 is essentially a 915 with an early 901 mainshaft. So I assume that I can get a clutch disk for a 901 and it will fit ok???

I didn't know for sure if there were any other differences in the spline that would create problems.

Can anybody clarify for me??????

John,

I just bought the clutch disc for use in my 912E. I'll email you the part numbers tomorrow. It's a stock Sachs clutch kit.

Here's what I got:

The clutch kit (Sachs) is KF 191-02

3151052001 is the throw out bearing (Sachs)

215mm clutch assembly

I just wonder if the 912E clutch/pressure plate will work with a flywheel off of a 67 2.0/6.

Or maybe use the 912E disk with the 911 pressure plate and flywheel.

Nobody seems to know for sure and this is my dilemma

I'll see if I can find out for you. I may know tomorrow. I'm going to pick up my newly refinished flywheel fresh from Ollie's in California. It's supposed to be in tomorrow sometime. I'll ask my mechanic who has worked on 912E's, early and old 911's etc. I know for sure that he has the charts with the cross referencing.

The splines are the same, its the pilot bearing size that's different. Use your 911 flywheel with a different pilot bearing.

The length of the input shaft is also different from the 915...
