MSD-6A install in 912
I just installed an MSD-6A with Blaster Coil and tach adapter and while engine idling has improved considerably I now find the tach to be very jumpy. Has anyone run across this problem before?
The instructions for each of these devices seem to offer contradictory recommendations regarding the use of a ballast resistor so don't know whether this is problem (I didn't use one). Thanks, |

CD Ignition Tach Problems?? Check this out, I had some problems with there wiring info and had to change a few things too. "dont know if this will help but with my msd I had to run the tach wire (black/purple that went to the coil - side directly to the dist points, so I now have two wires from the dist points because with the msd you eliminate the wire from the coil directly to the points and the tach needs to pick up info from the points to work, then it worked just fine."

Tach Fix
Here is a circuit I got from an engineer at the company that made the Mark Ten CD units.
Maybe it will help. Thanks, Ron D ![]()
