Carb linkage issues; need help
On my right carb I added a K&N filter setup for my Webers and the linkage hits the filter. I turned the ball on the carb the other way and it still hits. How can I adjust the carb crossbar enough without hitting the engine tin or the filter box?

You can gently bend the pivot arm. Using your photo, there's an area around the yellow mark at which the arm can be bent while keeping the forward (towards front of car) portion straight. Remove the ball socket rod to the carb, support the rear of the arm with vice grips, etc. then, using a crescent wrench or another pair of vice grips, slowly bend the outer half of the arm until you get the clearance you need. The arm might have been bent in the past - they're not too hard to bend horizontally, but impossible to bend vertically. You'll probably need to re-adjust the rod length to the carb.
Good luck, Bill. ![]() |
