4 spd shift pattern

This is a dumb question: But I have to ask anyway (My car is fully disassembled ready for paint) and I can not recall if the "R" Reverse is on the Right Bottom next to the 4th gear or is it on the left upper near the 1st gear . My car has a 4 speed . Reason being is that they are selling the 4 spd shift knob repros for $ 74.99 at Tweeks and there have the photos of the knob with that pattern , I do not think there were 2 different 4 spd transmissions for the 911/ 912? So the pattern should be the same.

Am I alright ?

My shift pattern is push left and forward for reverse. Mine is a 66 4 speed. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the replies I checked the Owner's Manual and it is on the Upper Left near the 1st shift .

So the other 4 spd pattern I seen in the tweeks catalogue must be from another transmission maybe a newer one.

Diesel : What is like to have the Flat 6 in your 66 912 ?

I know you already found your answer but I remembered something I made up quite some time ago and have hanging in my garage...
