A Visit to Gary Emory's
Took a much deserved drive down to Gary's looking for the longest, most off beat way to get there. Fun drive. Stopped and talked with Don Marks and Gary, picked up some goodies as usual and Gary and I when for a short drive over to Evergreen Field where they were having their third annual Fly In and Camp-out. Very cool to see these old timers jockey there old planes in fun formations over the calm country skies, hell even over Gary's house. Most had tents pitched under there wings for the stay over. The Emory crew dropped off the second Special over in Bend to a great Porsche community in central Oregon over the weekend and just got back when I showed up.

Here are some shots in the barn and a few more at the races. Thank god the 906 was parked next to it to hold the tent down;-)

Check out one of the barns full of cars, Damn!
Do you see the 908 wedged in there in the back? Only two of these made by the factory in 68 and this one is signed by all the drivers of the day. To bad Cameron (the owner) missed a rear coming out of turn three up in Seattle. Bent a few valves, that's a $50k+ mistake, UGH! Walko, you come to the main land and stay at the Itsofishel B&B and I'll take you down personally to see Gary. P.S. that's Jimmie Fadden in the picture with Gary Emory (I like to put names with photos, some don't bother on other boards;-). Founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Those guys have played with just about everyone you can imagine, do a You-Tube search and see for yourself. Gregg ![]() ![]()

When are you going to give all this a rest? Either just post or go away before you get banned here too! Actually keep it up, and then perhaps this can go back to being an underused but civil bbs. In the meantime I will spend my 912 $$ elsewhere.

I'm not sure why the animosity has to come over to this bbs. If Fishel isn't posting there and ticking someone off, then why come over here and look for something to complain about?
djdcs - like you'd spend your money at Pelican anyway . . .

Gregg, Gregg, Gregg,
Naughty boy! Anyhow... I can't get any pix to open. Looked at the PIR deally and couldn't see any there either. There is a girl in Eugene that tools around in new Lotus'. (what's the plural of Lotus?) She's got a green, a yellow, and a greyish one I think. If I was young and single probably the kind of girl I'd like to meet. (Would actually like to meet her anyways. Definately would like to go for a spin.) I will try this site from work to see if I can't see the light. Our club went to Sisters this morning. I went along until the dam at Leaburg. What an awesome day. John T.(Oregon) |

Gregg,
All is well. I am now running a dual-core processor. Got the ol' Mac SE30 running in parallel with the 64. Blazing speed!!! Probably not quite as fast (or hot) as you on the track at PIR though. I hear that Sunset is having a swap meet this weekend. Maybe I'll see you. John T.(Oregon) |

Swing by and pick me up when you go. I need a set of jugs, valves etc. I got the carbs dialed in and started right up but won't idle to save it's life. Plus I'm hearing blow by in one possible two pistons. No biggie, I was going to take the motor out any who and fix a few leaks, repack the half shafts and other misc items.
That's what I get for trying to stay with the pack of Ferrari's, Lotuses, and BMW's;-) Gregg |
