Early Rear decklid emblems position
I'm restoring an early 1966 912. Decklid was fitted with post 67 separate gold PORSCHE letters and a straight false 911S emblem. I fill all the holes for theses emblems. Now, I have to drill new holes for fitting lateral angled 912 Logo and 2 pieces PORSCHE logo. Do someone could give the exact position of theses holes.
Do someone know where I can find a silver 2 pieces 65-66 PORSCHE Logo ( nothing on Ebay for weeks). Some dealers get new reproductions but only in gold. Is it easy to convert gold to silver ? |

They are not silver, but chromed. If you can't find one of the chromed ones. Just have one of the gold ones chromed.

If you look at the deck emblems string on this forum you will see some photots of various emblems. I just restored my deck lid on a 66. I was able to get the correct script emblems on ebay, but they were not cheap and the only other that I have seen was a set on a complete decklid recently that did not reach the reserve, The bidding went to around 600 dlls. The photo of the gold script in the other string shows only 2 mounting posts while the original has 4. There was a discussion as to the rarity of this item and I am pretty convinced that it is quite rare. If you would like I can contact the seller of the decklid to see if he will part it out,,,good luck Mark

Thanks a lot for answer and photo.
600 dlls for a trimmed decklid, it's much more I accept to pay. I will probably buy a new gold replica and have it chromed. Interested if someone can give the distance beetween Porsche logo and inferior lid of the decklid and beetween 912 angled logo and lateral and inferior lids of decklid Best Regards Val |

Here's the deck lid of 451326, completed 8/24/65:
![]() I've owned it since 1968. The lid and trim were replaced in 1968 after I backed into a phone pole at a race at Watkins Glen, but I recall being careful to have the body man position the trim accurately. Frank |
