Howard Beard snagged the first place in the Porsche Early judging at the 25th Annual Classics on the James this past weekend! His slate gray faux racer snatched victory from the bitter chocolate 912E presented at the island concourse and car show by Dave L. Unexpectedly elbowing out a group of excellent examples, Howard excitedly exclaimed "It's a 912 one-two!" having pushed a Porsche 930 slant nose into third place on the day. Dave L. stated that he hadn't even bothered to clean the grass clippings off his tires, or to wipe down the 912E after a 100-mile trip to the show- thinking that he would have 'no chance' against a well-presented field! Not generally prone to smack-talk, Dave L. further claimed that he had left his car in its 'driven state' at the display to give Howard a fair chance! R/Dave L.
