zipper for soft rear window 912 targa

I have a soft rear window (the plastic is in great shape) but the zipper has ripped. Any ideas on how or where to replace or repair the zipper?

thanks '68 912 targa with 44K miles

Try the 912 Board. There are several SWT owners over there. Also most upholstery shops that do convertible tops should be able to help you.

Jaems is right on about an upholstery shop. It is a major pain to remove the window so unless this is something you are planning to do, the car will need to be taken in. Having just put in a new replacement soft window I can see where it is going to be difficult to replace the zipper. Depending on what is wrong, I guess it could be possible to repair the existing zipper. Good luck.

Swt

fixing the zipper ONLY for the SWT 's should be less than $75. If you would like to replace the entire soft top, call ********s, You can buy the entire piece for less thann $600.

My SWT has a good zipper but no zipper mechanism to zip it up or down. Now down. When I bought the car my son sewed the window up so I could drive it home over Christmas from Ohio to Virginia. Could use the piece that slides on the zipper teeth if you have one.
asking just in case someone has one.
