1969 912

Hi,
I'm new to the Forum, I have been looking at purchasing a 1969 912 targa.
I know it need appox $15000.00 to make it a very very nice driver, that includes rebuilding the engine, paint and body work, stocks brakes etc.
What are these cars worth?
PS. it does are the Porsche Cert.of authenticity

Thanks
Jim

Mint condition 912s have had asking prices of $40,000 or greater; arguably bargains compared to 911s of the same vintage.

Is there a premium for a 3 gauge early car over a 5 gauge ? would they be considered rarer

Where in the heck are those numbers from, LaLa land? I see ok cars for like $6K. I sold my 67 911 for $5500. Before you shell out $15K You better look around first. Get a "real world" price. not a price made up by Disney.
I paid $2900.00 for my 912, Yea a basket case to some, I see it as an easy project. Buyer beware..

john - some prefer the 3 gauge over 5. I am for one. Though for some i imagine original 3 gauge painted dash cars may command a premium.

As for pricing the American market is very different to the OZ and likely NZ market as we had so little 912's originally delivered in RHD.

Though I too wonder who has recently paid 46k for a 912 soft window targa or coupe ..anyone care to own up on this? Though 912's are pound for pound offering better value in my opinion for real good cars over a 911.
