Two Really Simple Questions!
Ok I have two of the most stupid questions ever
![]() 1: If I remove the distributor cap from my 912 at night and crank the car over should I see sparks between the points if everything is working correctly? 2: If unhook the coil wire from the distributor cap and touch it to a ground surface should I see sparks? This is all based on a 1969 912 with stock ignition setup.. Please excuse my ignorance ![]()

The answer to #1 is yes, especially if the condenser is bad. A good condenser will allow a very small spark to be seen, in my opinion.
The answer to #2 is yes, if the cap is in place on the distributor, no if it isn't. Hope this helps. Scott |
