Flapper boxes, what are worth?

I have been bidding on a pair of flapper boxes on eBay. We are up to $300. The add says that they are new, in wrap with a Porsche 912 part number. The seller also said that he purchased them new years ago and was going to modify them for his 356.

I would like opinions on how high I should bid.

Why don't you call Parts Heaven or another salvager to find out what a set of used but in good condition would cost.

There is also a Porsche swapmeet this Sunday (9/15) at Carlsen Porsche in Redwood City. Several 912 owners will be there and there is at least 1 912 entered in to each category of the Concours so come on out and support those 912's.
