SWB vs LWB regarding turn sigals
I posted this in the 911 forum and no response. Seems like you mention 912 and they ignore you.
I have a US 67 912 that I moved with here to Germany. I am in the process of preparation for the TÜV inspection. I have to convert the lights to euro standards. Is this just a lens change on the turn signals and brake lights? I have some 69 front Euro lens but they are a different size. I had thought all front lights were interchangeable? I understand that Porsche changed the design that the lens could be replaced were as in 67 you had to replace the entire housing. But also understood that you can with some extra work also replace just the lens on a 67 housing. You just needed to melt away some tabs and such. So my question really is is there a difference in size between 67 and 69? Do they offer SWB lenses only? I understand what need to be done for the headlights. Just bought some nice H4s to replace the sugar scoops that the PO had installed. ![]()

Mark:
As you show in your bottom photo they're completely different parts. There are replacement lenses available for the early (68 & back) cars in both US and Euro versions. I'll PM you some links since they're not from our host who, as far as I can tell, only sells the US version. Good luck, Bill |
