Engine lid emblem/badge

I have a 1966 912 Porsche whose engine lid badges are set up differently than most.
It does not have the normal PORSCHE at the bottom of the lid. Instead, it has 912
toward the top below the grill and two diagonal holes on the right side. I wouldn't put 912 in there also, would I?

The angled holes would be correct for the proper '66 slant script. Correct would also be what looks like a single piece "Porsche" instead of the individual letters. Many people changed out the correct '66 badging over the years.
