I am in the process of putting together a Colored Wiring Diagram for the 1969 912 with the 5 instrument gages. According to the Porsche Classic Department there is no such wiring diagram in existance for a 5 gage 69 912.
My 69 5 gage 912 has two main fuse boxes with 8 fuses each and a rear engine compartment fuse box with 2 fuses. If you have a 3 gage 1969 do you have just a single main fuse box with 12 fuses? Or do you also have the two fuse boxes with 8 fuses each. Prior to 69 all 3 gage 912's had the single fuse box with 12 fuses. Please let me know. Thanks for your help. Ron

My 69 has 5 gauges and a double fuse box / engine compartment , as you mention, did not all 69's come with the 5 guage set up?

Hello
Very simple. The shematic layout from the 69 911 and 912 are similar. All the bodys where equiped with the similar main wirelooom runing trough the car, had the same frontendwireloom and the same fuse boxes. Only the enginewireloom on the 14 pinconnector was the main difference. AFIK all 69 911/912 had a 5 instrument dash from the factory yet 911 T and 912 a simplified version. Grüsse |

Thanks for the replies .
The 69 911 has an Alternator and a lot of related electrical items for the Alternator charging circit and also 6 spark plugs. The 912 has a simpler Generator charging circit and 4 spark plugs. There are other electrical devices on the 911 not on the 912 some of which are related to the ignition start and stop modes. So I need to overlay the schematic from both Models and come up with an accurate one for the 69 912 5 gage Model. It is logical the both would use the same wiring harness and that may be the reaon no wiring diagram exists for the 69 912 5 gage. I also recall the offer of an "S -Package Option" on my 68 911L which may have included 5 gages, Leather steering wheel cover, Fuches and more, I don't remember. I am told there are 69 912's with 3 gages. Does anyone have such 1969 912?? Without the "S Option"? Thanks, Ron
