Allan,

I am really sorry you're giving up. I do not know what Chuck's logic in selling the car was as I have not heard from him since. Sounds like it is really nice and sound, and you've gone thru the clutch already- the tranny's are usually pretty bullet proof.

You're engine may not be serious. May just be some seals and adjustments, unless you know something we don't. Unless you've decided it just isn't for you, please reconsider David and Kevin's offers to come and have a look. If it's a 20 dollar fix and a few adjustments, wouldn't you rather find out now than have a buyer rub it in later...

Just hate to loose a new P car owner to frustration my friend...

Please, keep the Faith!!

Morrie

Well, with the lack of power, and the smoking, instinct tells me that
at the very least it needs pistons/cyls or rebuild heads.
Man I looked up piston sets and those jokers cost around $850.00
And that doesnt' cover the whole job.

I am going through a divorce, I only make $10.00 an hour and I have
all the same bills I had while married plus now I have $400.00 a month
in child support. There's no way I could afford major work for it.

I LOVE THIS CAR, but even if I did the labor with some help of course,
I couldn't even come close to bieng able to buy the parts.
A friend said There's a reason you don't see poor people in Porsches,
well, looks like he was right.

Guess trying to have at least one thing that I could be proud of is
just not in the cards for me right now.
I'd hate to have this car and have to see it just sitting in the garage
for the next couple years while I try to save a little change here and
There.

Sorry for the sob story, but just trying to explain why I would sell a car
I REALLY want...........

Thanks for all the advise guys, but unless there's a save the Porsche
fund for Allan, looks like the car needs a new owner to get it going.

If anyone wants to come look at it feel free, I'm home from 8:00am till
10:00pm everyday,.........

Install a TIV engine into it, and make it a 912E....drive it forever and do it cheaper than a stock 912 engine rebuild!
